Gardens at Home and at Church

Some friends were worried when we left for the central city- “what will you do without a garden?” they asked Tanya.

Six pots on the deck!” she answered confidently.  And here they are…providing all our salad greens and herbs.  But we’d also explored the Saint Columba church grounds next door, and Tanya started taking our compost scraps to feed their worm farms and compost bins. It wasn’t long before the church secretary Sinuia asked Tanya if she’d like an allotment, and Janet, a neighbour at Ockham offered hers… so our winter greens are planted, and she is growing a new group of friends too.
