Our HP All-in-one Desktop has suddenly died, without any warning-and it’s not even two years old. So we’re working from a laptop and web mail only.
Thank goodness for Earthsong expert Grant, who has eventually found all the files (but no directories) and saved them on an external disk to be re-labelled and transfered to a new HDD.
It took me five hours of phone calls and emails to get a real person at HP to send rescue disks. I hate voice recognition answerphone services, and convoluted unresponsive websites offering forums instead of practical help.
However, it’s my – Charmaine’s – ultimate stupidity – I hadn’t done a backup since we came here. Don’t be like me and keep putting it off!
